Amazing OLED
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With COVID-19 restricting outside activities, I decided to upgrade my in-home entertainment. This Master Series OLED is simply amazing. I compared Sony to LG OLED and liked the more realistic image. The picture is brilliant without being overwhelming. The smart TV apps are easy to add, activate, and use. The remote control interacts with streaming services seamlessly. The audio quality is very good, much better than my old Sony Bravia LED. I have a Bose Cinemate system, and it interfaces beautifully with the optical audio output. I now have a fantastic in-home entertainment system to make staying at home a beautiful thing. I purchased this on an early Black Friday sale. Even with $1000 off, this was a significant purchase. But this TV is so impressive, it is worth the investment. I highly recommend this AMAZING SONY OLED TV.

An extraordinary TV experience!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Going from a twenty+ year old 27” Sony to a 65” Sony Oled Smart 4UHD TV.... there are no words to describe the experience! The colors and details you can see on the screen are extraordinary. By adding the Sony sound bar with sub woofer It feels like you are in a movie theater! After the shock wears off, I will explore more of the wonderful adventures in viewing that come installed either for free or available to purchase. My Geek Squad installers were professional and extremely helpful and courteous! My salesperson called to check in to make sure everything went well! Thank you Bestbuy! Now, back to watch my next show!

Absolutely Stunning...the second time around !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to jump in big time and pay the big bucks for supposedly 'the best OLED TV". Replacing a calibrated 60" Samsung Plasma (PN60F8500) that is still holds a great picture. Long story short, after setting up the new Sony A9G we were blown away with the picture quality. The only access to actual 4K HDR content we had was watching demo videos on YouTube through the TV ap. All was great but after about 6 hours of on-time the TV took a dump and developed a horrendous vertical green line just off center top to bottom on every source input as well as the Home screen. Had to go through the hassle of returning it to the store and arranging another set to be delivered. So far the second set has been flawless and since we are now past the two week BB return time we are holding our breath every time we turn on the TV. I hope this was just a one-off issue (maybe the TV was built on a Friday afternoon and they rushed it to go home). Another issue I have is for such a "high end" TV I would have expected a very detailed user manual to accompany the TV. NOT! Sony went cheep on this aspect. There isn't even one to download from the Sony website. There is buried in the TV menu a generic link to various Sony video set-up guides but nothing specific to the A9G. I've resorted to reading posts by other users on on-line forums (AVS) to get info on how to tweak the TV. So far so good.

Best TV in 2020
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV in June. Originally went in to buy the A8G but after seeing the difference between the A9G and every other tv in the store decided to buy what I believe to be a great tv for years to come. Nearly 6 months in now and I am very happy with this purchase. With 8k being many years away from being supported in large scale this tv will not disappoint. The picture is magnificent. There is no lag or fuzziness ever. I was warned that it does not perform as well as QLED during the day but I've never had any trouble. As for operation this tv is very easy to use if you are accustomed to using a smart phone. After a couple days of searching and downloading apps that i wanted, the ease of use is effortless. Occasionally I do have perform a hard restart for some of the apps to work properly but this is no different than a phone. And seeing as how it is Android based it's also expected. Sound is above average in volume but the quality is crystal clear perfect. Pair this tv with dolby atmos surround and you will have true cinema experience. This tv works well without but is not as loud as Samsung. So happy that I returned to Sony with this purchase and I'm very excited to see what happens when it's paired with a PS5. In my opinion and experience Sony OLED is superior to Samsung QLED in operation, picture, and style. Samsung does offer a superior sound without surround or bar, and is easier to use out of the box.

Great Contrast, Awesome Picture
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Moderate to Easy setup, nice speed on Android Operating system. Disney Plus looks Great - Menus seem to be off in color, but the movies are excellent. Amazon Prime - Works Awesome, Netflix Awesome - (Try "Our Planet" on Netflix). HDR Content looks great with Dolby Vision, HLG and HDR10. Mounting to the wall was great as Sony provides screws for the TV. Remote is a bit long for me, but very functional. I still need to figure out how to get the remote to control the Bose System for Volume. Just a tad expensive, when compared to Vizio and Samsung QLED (different format, but almost comparable)

Returned for LG C9
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this tv for two weeks, excellent picture quality, excellent upscaling, ok operating system, HDMI 2.0, dim Dolby Vision: The main reason I returned this tv was because every time I turned the eARC on the tv would go into standby mode, black screen with Bravia logo, I found one other person on the AVS forum that had the same problem. I contacted Sony and they could not help, the geek squad came to the house and they could not solve, I even did a factory reset and that didn’t work. The only way I could watch tv without it going into standby was to turn eARC to off. I have an eARC compatible sound bar so I wanted this feature to work, for what I paid for this tv I expected everything to work, so I decided to exchange for the 77’ LG C9. Best Buy was excellent, this was a return/exchange/upgrade, they came and removed the the AG9 and set up the C9, I also purchased Tech Support for one year as well as the five year extended warranty. The C9 is an excellent tv, the picture quality and the upscaling aren’t as good as the Sony, but very close, in my opinion. The C9 also has HDMI 2.1 and the eARC works flawlessly with my sound bar, love the C9 operating system too. I think the Sony A9G is an excellent tv, I just happened to get a defective panel, I also think their Dolby Vision is dim, the C9 is brighter.

A worthy tv for a Home Theater
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely amazing picture and sound! I’ve had so many 4K TVs at this point, that me and my wife agreed we were tired of buying them. She had been wanting a Sony again and I had been wanting an OLED. After hunting for months we finally found a good deal on this one and couldn’t turn it down. This is the best tv we have ever owned. Needless to say we won’t need another one for a long time. Attached are scenes from the Jaws 4K Blu-ray!

Q: QuestionTo use TV as center speaker do I just disconnect center surround sound speaker and connect it to TV?
Asked by JR.
- A:Answer I have the A9G and tried using the TV as my center speaker with my surround sound system. Yes, there are discrete wire connectors on the back of the TV that are used specifically to enable this feature. There is also a setting in the TV sound menu to select the function as well. After doing this on my system I found that there was a slight lag between the TV and the rest of the speakers which created a echo-like delay. I have a Pioneer SC-LX701 Receiver so it's not that I am using an outdated system. I ended up going back to using my original center speaker.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between an A8G and an A9G Sony 65 inch OLED TV other than the price?
Asked by Danm.
- A:Answer Hello, These TVs specification is almost the same. The only difference is, on the A9G, Sony added an Object-based Super Resolution for the Clarity Enhancement and an Auto mode for the Motion Enhancer. You may check the comparison below. https://www.sony.com/electronics/tv/t/televisions?view=compare Regards, Erin

Q: QuestionLooking to buy this TV soon instead of LG Cheaper OlED What is the input lag on the TV for Gaming on my computer with RTX 2070? Does it have HDMI 2.1 or would the next model have it? What is the response time for gaming?
Asked by Batman.
- A:Answer To answer you question. The input lag on Sony Oled tvs's aren't great if you are competetively gaming. It's 26 milli-seconds. It does not have HDMI 2.1. Those features are on Sony's LED range. Best option is LG C9 or CX. If you want to wait then check out the Vizio Oled. I hope that helps.

Q: QuestionI noticed that SONY has apparently changed the stand recently on this model...from the easel slightly tilted version to a straight upright model...can I know which version I will get? I had to order it and am picking it up on 7/14/19.....
Asked by Bobblewood.
- A:Answer Hi. I've been researching the crap out of the Sony OLEDs trying to find the best fit to replace an old 52" Sony Bravia 1080p. I believe that the a9F from 2018 has the easel, while the updated a9G has a rounded base and sits straight up and down. The 9AG also has the up to date software in order to not be obsolete going forward, if that is important to you.
